The Ghana Education Service (GES) Director General, Dr. Erick Nkansah, has promised that, subject to financial approval, his institution will employ diploma holders and recent graduates in 2024.
He said that the absence of financial approval from the Finance Ministry was the reason the GES was unable to employ the aforementioned employees.
He added that the GES will make an announcement on the hiring of these qualified educators to cover the various positions as soon as the outfit obtains the required approval. In addition, he pledged to quicken the hiring procedure.
“We are advocating for financial authorization for individuals with advanced degrees and diplomats”. We will adhere to the same procedure when we arrive.
In a similar event, he revealed the rationale behind the GES’s decision to discontinue the self-posting system for instructors that it had just launched.
In order to prevent teachers from complaining that they had been sent to locations they did not desire, one of the goals of the introduction was to make sure that they selected the areas and schools they wished to be posted to.
He revealed that the GES was modernizing the system, which is why it is currently nonfunctional, in his justification for why the technology was kept inaccessible to teachers.
For an update that will allow applicants to self-repost within the system, the system is not accessible at this time. This led to the technical outage. When the system is operational, we will properly communicate. He stressed
Reactions to the GES’s information about this year’s recruitment of university graduates and diploma holders have been varied, with four months remaining before the general elections of 2024.
Instructors are encouraged to organize all of the paperwork needed for hiring and to wait for the Ghana Education Service to make an announcement.
The month in which the recruitment for these graduates—who have been back home for several months after fulfilling all recruitment requirements—will begin has not yet been disclosed by the GES.
This site will be updated immediately the GES recruitment portal is opened
