Nonetheless, of the 14,000 advisers, 319 ward liaison officers and 40 local government area liaison officers were also appointed by Governor Wike, according to Mr. Ebiri.

“The appointments are effective right away.”

After his eight-year term ends in May 2023, Governor Wike is presumed to hand the state over to a new leader.
