State Governors and PDP officials have reportedly requested a meeting between the embattled National Chairman and Wike as they continue to look for solutions to the ongoing crisis.

Several governors and party chieftains who were initially requested to meet with Wike have reportedly told Ayu to do so instead and to apologise since he is the root of the problem, according to a source who spoke to Saturday Sun.

He said that even though they anticipate Ayu to act this weekend, it is still unknown whether the National Chairman will adhere to their counsel.
He stated: “The governors and other party leaders who have been asked to get in touch with Wike have instructed Ayu, who is the main perpetrator of the crisis, to arrange a meeting with the governor of Rivers and perhaps offer an apology. This weekend, we anticipate him taking that action. But I’m unable to predict whether it will.”

This may be a wise move, but I don’t believe it will satisfy Wike and his supporters, who have been pushing for a southerner to become the new National Chairman of the party.
