Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC National Working Committee, NWC, and Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, has warned Chris Ngige and other political appointees on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, not to play hide and seek about their political allegiance, stating emphatically that it is either they campaign publicly for the party’s Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr. Ajaka made this revelation in response to comments made by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, on Channels Television on Friday, in which he failed to endorse either Peter Obi of the Labour Party or Bola Tinubu of the APC.

Speaking further, the APC chieftain stated that a serving Minister in an APC government is expected to be a good and trusted apostle of APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the election next year.

He went on to say that Chief Ngige and other APC appointees, particularly those in the federal cabinet, should not lose sight of the fact that they are guarding the party’s mandate and must do whatever it takes to protect it.

“Chief Ngige and other APC appointees, especially in the federal cabinet, should not forget in a hurry that they are holding onto the party’s mandate, hence the need to protect it with whatever it requires, but if they can no longer protect the interest of the APC in public and that of our presidential candidate (Tinubu), I think the honourable thing to do is to step aside from the APC government,” he asserted.

In my opinion, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, did nothing wrong by not backing Bola Tinubu’s candidacy. However, in any case, let’s wait and see what happens next year. What is your take?
