Atiku Abubakar’s absence from the Rivers State campaign poster was recently explained by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. Atiku is the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a public speech at the Rivers State PDP campaign council’s inauguration, Nyesom Wike said that the PDP presidential candidate had not instructed him to campaign for them. Without his input, Atiku chose the people in Rivers State he wanted to collaborate.

“Wike went on to say that he will only campaign for people who have asked him to do so and that Atiku has not asked me to campaign for him. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate entered my state and picked members of the presidential council without the contribution of the Rivers State Governor.”

“They said they don’t need me to campaign for them.” I have never seen people disrespect a state like Rivers State and choose enemies of Rivers State without the state governor’s contribution,” Wike said while explaining why he removed the picture of the PDP’s presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku, from the Rivers State campaign poster.”
