The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, allegedly committed sins so heinous that if they were revealed, his children would disown him, according to Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike.
According to Wike, the children of Ayu will go to him and declare that they are no longer his children if people learn what they know and if we divulge what we possess.

The Governor stated during a live media event on Friday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, that Ayu had no right to speak to Nigerians and advocate for the PDP before the general elections of 2023.
In addition to claiming that the PDP chairman received double pay for a single project, the governor claimed that the PDP leader lacks integrity.
Regarding the N1 billion he claimed Ayu had amassed, Wike stated: “No remarks are allowed. He (Ayu) is unable to speak. Look, I don’t just come out to speak because I’m the governor of Rivers State.

“Let’s assume that Ayu did not receive N1 billion. In fact, allow me to add that after receiving N100 million from a governor to renovate our democratic institution, Ayu returned to the PDP NWC and demanded the same amount for performing the same work.
“That system, what kind is it? All of these things I’m telling you are true. Let him (Ayu) decline first, then I’ll explain (those he collected money from).
“A leader needs to be a man of character. And I’ve come to realise that lately, having that (integrity) is difficult for people. You are electing a man (Ayu) to lead the party who lacked integrity. Someone who wants to organise an effort to seize control of the government?

“What is the problem with what we are asking of Ayu? We are saying, let there be equity, let there be fairness and justice. But if you don’t want it that way, then you are the one causing the crisis (in the party) and that shows you (Ayu) don’t have leadership skills because this is the time to show it. This is the time to show leadership skills on the part of those who are the leaders of the party.”
