Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president and presidential candidate of the opposition People Democratic Party, has arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to officially launch his presidential campaign ahead of the 2023 presidential general election.
Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, received the opposition party’s presidential candidate.

Others who supported Atiku Abubakar include his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa; the Director General of the Campaign Team, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal; and many other party chieftains.
It’s taking place amid an ongoing dispute between the PDP leadership and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike’s camp.
However, Atiku Abubakar is probably unconcerned about whether Governors Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as many other party chieftains on Wike’s side, are willing to participate in PDP political activities. He appears to be forging ahead with the campaign without Wike’s support.
Atiku’s aim is to become the next president of the Republic of Nigeria but his fate is uncertain.
Now the question is; Will he be elected as the president of Nigeria in the upcoming 2023 presidential election?
