The Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Efiong Akwa, was fired, and for that, President Muhammadu Buhari has received praise from the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide.

The IYC expressed its delight that the president terminated the NDDC’s era of interim administrations, which had crippled the commission and denied all member states equal participation in the interventionist agency’s work as envisioned by the Act creating it.
