Before Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected governor of Lagos State in 1999, there were trash dumps all over the state, according to the APC’s presidential candidate.

In a Channel Television programme that was broadcast on Friday night, the former governor of Lagos State made the announcement. He claimed that the foundation he laid would be used by governors who came after him to build the city.

In Lagos, according to Tinubu, there were countless trash dumps, no roofs on any of the schools or hospitals, and no oxygen tanks to save lives, but he came to change the story.

“Oriental Hotel to Civic Center areas of Victoria Island were trash dumping grounds, but today, the areas have transformed into something positive,” he said.
