According to a report published online this morning by the Vanguard Newspaper, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have indeed officially started their campaign for the forthcoming presidential election.

Based on a source who spoke to Vanguard under the confidentiality agreement and who is also an alliance member of Atiku, Wike was not important enough to thwart the campaign.

“Let me tell you the truth: As far as Wike’s case is concerned, there is a widespread belief that the campaign has moved on. So, if Wike or members of his camp demonstrate a willingness to enter, they will be accommodated. Nobody is expecting them because they aren’t important enough to derail the process. That is my genuine, overwhelming impression,” he concluded.
