In response to Wike, Ayu explains why the PDP governor gave him N100 million.

The national leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has addressed a criticism Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, levelled at him.

A party-affiliated state governor offered the PDP leader N100 million on Friday, according to Governor Wike.

At a press conference with journalists held at the State House in Port Harcourt, the state capital of Rivers, Wike made the assertion.

Ayu immediately refuted the Governor’s claims, claiming they were untrue and that he had never received cash as an individual.

He did, however, make it clear that all money raised for the party was duly transferred to the PDP treasury.

Ayu made a stronger argument by mentioning that a party governor gave N100 million to the PDP’s Democratic Institute’s renovation and that the money hasn’t even been spent yet because the project is still in progress.

He added that the institute will be officially launched in the coming weeks.
