Ghanaian nurses and other international nurses who wish to apply and work as a nurse in the U.K must meet certain requirements in order to be given the mandate to work.

You must be a fully qualified, registered nurse
Nursing degree or Diploma.
1 year of Nursing experience.
Registered Nurse License.
English Language Proficiency.
You will need to pass IELTS or OET to demonstrate your English language skills.
Academic IELTS with a writing score of 6.5 and a total score of 7.
OET with a C+ in writing and a B in the other areas.
Participate in a Job Interview

NMC Self-Assessment
You must first complete an online self-assessment to determine whether you are eligible to apply for NMC registration.
You will be asked to confirm that you meet the health, character, and English language requirements as part of this assessment.
Pass the Computer Based Test (CBT)
All nurses in the United Kingdom are required to be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). Registration includes a Computer Based Test (CBT), which can be taken at any of the world’s test centres. The exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions.
NMC Application Evaluation
You’ll need to submit a number of documents to the NMC in order for them to determine whether you’re a good fit for a nursing position in the UK.

Certificate Of Sponsorship (COS)
A Certificate of Sponsorship is required to apply for a UK work visa (COS). Your NHS Trust will act as your sponsor and apply on your behalf. Your COS will be valid for three years, after which you can be re-sponsored. After 5 years in the UK, you can apply for permanent residency.
An Application for a Visa
International nurses who wish to work in the UK must apply for a Tier 2 Visa. Their clients in the United Kingdom will pay or reimburse the cost of your visa.
Flight to the United Kingdom
Their clients will either pay for or reimburse your flight to the United Kingdom.
