After conferring with hundreds of his fans and groups that sang songs of solidarity about his competence and ability to influence the politics of the State, Inuwa announced his choice on Sunday at his campaign office in Katsina.

The current governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, appointed the party stalwart as SSG immediately after taking office.

When he ran for Katsina State governor on the APC platform, he was defeated by Dr. Dikko Umar Radda.

According to reports, Inuwa announced his support for Radda shortly after the governorship primary.

When things abruptly broke apart, followers from both camps began to swap accusations.
Apart from the State PDP and NNPP leadership, the APC and Labour Party Vice Presidential candidates, Senators Kashim Shetima and Datti Baba Ahmed, respectively, are said to have visited Dr. Inuwa.
