The vice presidential candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima, has come under fire from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for his remark at an APC meeting with business leaders.

Shettima was warned by Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, in a statement released on Wednesday night to avoid being disrespectful and careless, as politics do not give Shettima or anybody else the right to make careless utterances.

According to prior reports, Shettima criticised one of Atiku’s businesses, claiming that just because Atiku can sell bottled water doesn’t qualify him as an expert on the economy.

While pleading with Shettima to retract his remarks, Atiku Abubakar stated that any company that employs people deserves to be appreciated.

A portion of the statement stated, “It is with absolute dismay that we listened to the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate speak condescendingly about other presidential candidates at a gathering they invited representatives of the commercial sector to on Tuesday.”
