The former president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has made some shocking revelations regarding the people who were arrested for involving in illegal mining.
According to the former president of Ghana, John Mahama, those who got arrested operating galamsey in the country would be granted amnesty because he believes they have changed from their bad ways hence he will give them a second chance to amend their lives in a positive way.
The ex-President is working in every sector to boot out the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party from power.
Galamsey has been a major problem for Ghana and the affected regions thus the former president’s statement did not go well with some Ghanaians.
They stated that John Mahama will do worse if Ghanaians decides to give him another chance to rule as the President of Ghana.
President Nana Akuffo Addo has been tackling the issue since he was voted into power in 2016.
The President asserted that the galamsey operation is one of the major problems in Ghana hence he will do his best to eradicate the illegalities in regard to the mining sector.
President Nana Akuffo Addo’s intention is to prevent people from destroying our water bodies therefore he made it clear to the public that anyone caught in such acts will be jailed or fined.
This initiative by the President is put down to ensure proper law enforcement and development in the country.
People were arrested at the galamsey site despite being warned by the authorities and other security sectors, but the former president noted emphatically that he will free the prisons when he wins the upcoming election.
He made this statement when he was addressing his people in a durbar at Odum-Banso.
