Kobina Tahir Hammond, MP for Adansi-Asokwa, believes individuals who booed President Akufo-Addo at the Global Citizen Festival in Accra cannot even run the country if given the chance.

The jeers from the audience, he claimed, were an act of contempt that should not have occurred.

In an interview with JoyNews, the NPP MP noted that governance is a complex business, and individuals who are dissatisfied with the present state of affairs must exercise some patience.

“Let’s exercise restraint a little.

He lashed out at those who booed the President off the platform, questioning their competence to govern the country if given the opportunity.

“Let us try some patience. President Nana Akufo-Addo is the executive President, in charge of all national issues. He didn’t say anything strange when he walked onto the stage.

“Aside from that, there wasn’t even a political platform.” “He was merely expressing his pleasure at the occasion,” he explained.

“We will continue to exhort you, young men and women, to be patient,” the MP added. When there is a problem that has to be solved, society always consults the old. Not you, young ones, with your coconut-like heads.

“At the very least, you should have waited until he mounted a political platform before hooting, and not at such an event.” Let us not denigrate the elderly for political reasons.”
