During an interview with Channels Television, Doyin Okupe, the Director General of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign organisation, stated that supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi who have been proceeding in cohesion with his aspirations are not doing so to demonstrate their size.

The Director claimed that the youth organizing rallies in support of Peter Obi’s presidential ambitions were out to make a point. He stated that they were out to demonstrate that they were not happy with what was happening within the country.

He said, “We are not holding a rally to demonstrate our popularity. The young people at the rally for the Obedient movement were out to demonstrate that they do not agree with what is going on in the country. Nobody was concerned if they were ten or twenty. People saw them, and our rivals followed suit, declaring their intention to hold a ten-million-man march. But whether it’s ten million or five million, it’s a catch-up game.”
