You might be aware that it contains pills, but what are the pills for? I realise that most of you probably don’t know.
You are in luck because you are about to learn what these tablets are and why they are beneficial.
First things first: before you keep reading, make sure you’re familiar with these acronyms and terms:
Viral Load—the quantity of virus presents in the blood of an infected individual. ART stands for antiretroviral treatment
acronym —The acronym for antiretrovirals is ARVs.
Great news for all individuals living with or without HIV on this planet
The pill containers you see up there are for antiretrovirals (ARVs), in case you didn’t know.
There is some good news: the virus can be brought down to undetectable levels if ARVs are taken daily and properly.
Virus detection in standard blood testing will be eliminated.
Once a person’s viral load reaches the “undetectable” level, they are unable to transmit the HIV virus to another individual through sexual contact.
You still need to have your viral load checked even if you’re feeling well and taking your ARVs regularly to be sure your virus has gone undetectable.
How critical is it that you take your HIV medication exactly as prescribed?
Because the virus is suppressed by HIV treatment pills,
it is impossible to transmit the infection to another person once the virus has become undetectable due to proper ARV consumption.
Think about how much better your life would be if your HIV load were lower.
There is no more fear, however it is still important to take good care of your health in your youth
Note: only take drugs recommended by your health care provider
