The University of Ghana SRC is preparing for the long-anticipated SRC elections in August 2024, as the Electoral Commission Mr. Ibn Ibrahim, has published the list of aspirants vying for various positions.
This is the most important moment in the democratic process at the university as far as the SRC is concerned as students prepare to elect their leaders for next year.
Display of aspirants
The process saw the display of aspirants for the different positions at the SRC Union Building, thereby giving students an overview of the aspirants vying for positions such as President, General Secretary and Treasurer.
These aspiring individuals have gone through the nomination process successfully and are ready to face any stringent vetting exercise to ensure their eligibility and qualification to assume leadership.

This vetting process is thus a very important component of the election process, as it is intended to test the capability of aspirants based on their knowledge and experience, as well as their suitability for the various positions.
Candidates are judged by a panel comprising experienced members of the SRC on their general knowledge, understanding of the Constitution, and the ability to express their vision regarding building the SRC.

This year’s vetting will take place on Tuesday July 30th at the SRC Union Building and candidates will be put through a myriad of questions that will test their preparedness and commitment towards student leadership.
