Serwaa Kesse Girls SHS in the Ahafo Region will have its first-ever appearance at the National Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
The over 50-year-old school has constantly been unable to stamp its name and reputation in the national tournament of the NSMQ despite excelling in other academic activities.
It was a desperate need for the girls to break their five-decade jinx and bring glory to their school.
The school has emerged victorious over their competitors from Mim SHS, Twereku Ampem SHS, Ola Girls Kenyasi, and Gyamfi Kumanini SHTS.
It was like a case of revenge for the Duayaw Nkwanta girls; this was a rematch with the same female rivals—the Ola Girls—which they had lost painfully during the regional qualifiers in 2023.
The contest was no match at all for the ladies from Kenyase, as they came nowhere near Serwwa Kesse—placing fourth out of the five competing schools.
Serwaa Kesse SHS emerged as the winner of the contest, raking in a score of 33, a full 10 points ahead of Mim SHS, the closest contender.
The girls said they were poised for action at the national tournament, getting enough preparation to take on any competition despite their naivety
