Accra, Ghana – Recent graduates of the University of Ghana (UG) are expressing their disappointment after allegedly not receiving graduation medallions and scroll holders, despite the university collecting over GH¢11 million in graduation fees.
According to reports, each student paid GH¢500.00 to graduate.
However, many students did not get the medallions and scroll holders that are traditionally given out at the ceremony. These items are seen as important keepsakes for graduates.
Joy News Research reported the story on February 17, 2025, which they cited the students’ frustration.
Scores of individuals are questioning where their money went and why they didn’t receive the items they were promised.
The University of Ghana has not yet responded to these complaints.
Amidst these, students are hoping the university will address the issue and provide them with the medallions and scroll holders they were expecting.
