Ghana black star coach Otto Addo has insisted that football fans and the entire country must not think about the 2026 World Cup
According to him, it is too early for Ghanaians to start thinking about the 2026 world cup.
Ghana yesterday strengthened their position in Group I with a resounding 5-0 win against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium last Friday in the Matchday five game.
The senior national team will be hosted by Madagascar in Morocco at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium in the Matchday six games on Monday, March 24, 2025.
A win against the Barea will further strengthen the Black Stars’ chances of playing at the Mundial in the USA, Canada and Mexico for the 2026 world cup
However, Addo, 49, says the team will take it step by step and that nobody should jubilate in a rush.
“Nobody should be thinking about the World Cup yet. We need to take it step by step. It’s very, very important that we stay focused until the job is done,” he said.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 12 points, with Madagascar close behind on 1
The four-time African champions are pushing for their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
