Tinubu Will Secure 99.9% of Votes in 2027 – Akpabio Declares
Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Saturday declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure an overwhelming majority—99.9%—of the votes in the 2027 presidential election.
Akpabio made the statement during a grand reception held in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, to formally welcome Governor Umo Eno into the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Eno recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing unresolved leadership crises within the opposition party.
While addressing party faithful and dignitaries at the event, Akpabio expressed optimism over the political future of both the APC and its key stakeholders, including President Tinubu and Governor Eno.
“I see you struggled a bit particularly to become the governor, but with my presence here today and all my people, Your Excellency, things have turned around,” Akpabio said.
“I see you becoming the first re-elected governor in 2027. So, for you, I can see everything turning around for your good and that of APC. I see everything turning around for Umo Eno and Tinubu in 2027,” he added.
The Senate President went on to predict an overwhelming landslide for Tinubu in 2027, claiming he would get 99.9% of the total votes
President Tinubu, who emerged victorious in the 2023 presidential election, secured 8.79 million votes—approximately 36.6% of the total votes cast—defeating his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party. His win was widely contested, with opposition candidates challenging the results in court before the Supreme Court upheld Tinubu’s victory.
