VP Shettima, top APC leaders storm Akwa Ibom for Gov Eno’s grand reception
The Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Saturday, stormed the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom state for the grand reception of Governor Umo Eno into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Stanley Nkwocha, the media aide to the vice president said Shettima arrived at the stadium to a rousing welcome from members and supporters of the APC in the state.
The Vice President is in Akwa Ibom to represent President Bola Tinubu at Eno’s grand reception into the ruling party.
Recall that Governor Eno had dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC.
According to the governor, the PDP was no longer serving the state and the APC was the best political party to take Akwa Ibom to the next level.
Nlwocha said, “The Vice President was warmly received at the packed stadium venue, with Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, serving as host alongside APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.”
Also, present at the venue of the reception are the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Governors Abdulrazaq and Uzodimma led 18 other state governors to the grand event.
