Members of the local vigilantes on Wednesday killed two notorious bandit leaders in Zamfara State.
The bandit leaders – Kacalla Maijikka and Me Dada – are said to be the most feared criminals in the state.
They were killed during an operation by the vigilantes in Garagi village, Mayanchi district of Maru Local Government Area of the state.
The operation, sources said, led to the death and beheading of Me Dada.
It was gathered that the vigilantes had ambushed the criminals after an intelligence gathering on their location.
In addition, Kacalla Maijikka, another notorious bandit leader known for kidnapping and extortion of huge ransoms from his victims was killed by the local vigilantes.
Sources said Maijikka was also known for killing his hostages after the payment of hefty ransoms.
Confirming the incident, the Zamfara Police command spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar said, “I’m aware that the two bandits were eliminated.”
