The Acting Director of the National Service Authority (NSA) in Ghana, Felix Gyamfi, has revealed a new update concerning the upcoming NSS registration
According to him, ”university students who do not have a valid Ghana Card will be barred from registering for their mandatory national service”.
He made this revelation intended to streamline the registration process and enhance the verification of identities among service personnel.
The requirement for a Ghana Card as a primary form of identification will enhances the government’s commitment to ensuring that only eligible candidates participate in the National Service Scheme.
Gyamfi pointed out that this initiative is part of broader efforts aimed at improving accountability and transparency within a system that has historically faced challenges related to inefficiencies and corruption.
However, for the upcoming 2024/2025 service year, eligible students will need to follow specific registration procedures to secure their placements.
This includes obtaining a PIN Code through the NSA’s online platform. Students are required to make a payment of GH¢40.00 or GH¢41.00 via MTN Mobile Money to activate their enrollment.
After completing their registration, students will receive appointment letters that they must print and present at their assigned institutions for endorsement.
The final step involves validating their registration at designated Regional Validation and Registration Centres, where they need to provide their endorsed appointment letters along with their Ghana Cards.
