
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the immediate recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to resume her legislative duties at the National Assembly, ruling that her six-month suspension by the Senate is excessive and unconstitutional.
The court, in its judgment delivered on Friday, held that the suspension of the Kogi Central lawmaker contravenes Section 14(2) of the Legislative Houses (Powers and Privileges) Act, which limits any legislative suspension to a maximum of 14 days.
