Andreas Büttner, 52, is sitting in the car, driving from appointment to appointment, when he has this conversation on Tuesday afternoon. He is a member of the Left and has been working as an anti-Semitism officer in Brandenburg for two years. There was an arson attack on his property at the weekend and he received a death threat on Monday.
TIME magazine: Mr. Büttner, how are you?
Andreas Büttner: I’m doing well. My family and I all agree that my work is important and that’s why I’ll carry on as before.
TIME magazine: An arson attack was carried out on your home on Sunday night. How do you remember it?
