Federal and state representatives have agreed on a new edition of the digital pact. At the Education Ministers’ Conference in Berlin, the federal and state governments agreed to invest a total of five billion euros over the next five years Digitalization to invest in schools. The so-called “Digital Pact 2.0” still needs to be ratified.

The first edition of this digitalization funding expired in 2024. Due to the traffic light government’s coalition break, a succession plan that had already been planned was no longer passed. For this reason, the pact should apply retroactively to January 1, 2025, explained Federal Education Minister Karin Prien (CDU).
