If I hadn’t become a cook, I would probably have trained as a gardener. People say I have a green thumb. Just as I like to knead dough with my hands, I also like to let them dig into soil and sow the first radishes in early spring and lamb’s lettuce in late autumn. I plant so many different types of heirloom tomatoes and herbs on my terrace that there is no room left for my garden chair because of all the pots. I use every square meter because I’m so interested in all the green stuff. It gives me great joy to watch it grow and thrive – and then to transform the harvest into something delicious in my kitchen.
