There will be elections in Saxony-Anhalt next summer, and the AfD is not far from an absolute majority in the polls.
The Saxony-Anhalt Monitor regularly and scientifically measures the mood in the state’s population. When presenting this year’s edition, the state government was pleased, also because almost 90 percent of those surveyed described themselves as Democrats. There are worrying numbers in the study. Only 44 percent support democracy in the sense of the Basic Law without any ifs or buts.
