During the attack, a man drove a car through the Christmas market. A nine-year-old boy and five women aged 45 to 75 died and more than 300 people were injured.
In the Magdeburg St. John’s Church commemorated residents of the city, those affected and relatives of victims of the attack. Candles were lit for the victims. Numerous people also gathered in front of the church to watch the memorial service.
