USA: MPs want to force Bondi to release all Epstein files

Two US Congress members want to appoint Attorney General Pam Bondi Release of remaining Epstein files force. Together with that Democrats Ro Khanna is working on a corresponding bill, said Republican Congressman Thomas Massie on CBS News.

If the House of Representatives agrees, Bondi would have to pay a fine for every day on which the required documents in the affair surrounding the deceased sex offender are submitted Jeffrey Epstein not be issued. Massie and Khanna accuse the department of ignoring rules and breaking the law. Despite their different party affiliations, both have often pushed forward legislative initiatives and are considered vocal critics of the Justice Department’s work in the Epstein affair. The two also initiated the law that requires the ministry to hand over the Epstein files.

On Friday, the Ministry of Justice began publishing the first documents and photos. Just a few hours later the authority has already come under criticismbecause a 119-page document containing witness statements was completely blacked out without any explanation. The ministry only released a version of the document with fewer redactions on Sunday. Other files have also been partially edited.

No comment from Bondi

Massie had already called for consequences for people involved in the abuse in November. “A process of reckoning is currently taking place in Great Britain that must also take place in the United States (…) A prince has lost his title, the British ambassador to the United States his post,” said Massie, referring to ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who had to give up his prince title in October because of his involvement in the Epstein affair. The British ambassador to Washington, Peter Mandelson, was fired in September because of his contacts with Epstein.

Since the release of the Epstein files, Bondi has not spoken publicly – not even when her ministry suddenly no longer offered published data for download. Instead, her deputy Todd Blanche said, that the removal of files without comment was at the request of those affected. The removed photos showed potential victims of the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epsteinwhich had not previously been identified as such, he told NBC News. Blanche announced that they would be open to the public again.

The images that have since been removed include a photo showing US President Donald Trump. It was added back into the record without any changes, according to the Justice Department. It had previously been determined that no Epstein victims could be seen in the picture.

Representative Massie emphasized in an interview with CBS News that although Blanche is currently using his face for the ministry’s inadequate work, Bondi is responsible for processing the Epstein files. Recently things had become surprisingly quiet around Bondi. In an interview with Vanity Fair US President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, accused the justice minister of having “completely failed” in handling the Epstein files.
