Russell Brand Further allegations of sexual violence have been made. The 50-year-old is accused of alleged rape and sexual assault, police in London said. The allegations relate “to two additional women and are in addition to the charges made against Brand in April 2025 and involving four women.” According to further police investigations, the total number of charges now comes from six women.
The ex-husband of the US singer Katy Perry has so far been rape in two cases and further sexual assaults on a total of four women between 1999 and 2005. He denied the allegations. The initial investigations against Brand began in September 2023 after allegations in the broadcast Dispatches on Channel 4 and in the newspaper The Sunday Times had been published.
Because of the new allegations, Brand must appear in court on January 20th, the police statement said. Without addressing the new allegations, the actor said in a video published on X: “2026 will be an important year” with “big (…) trials.” He said he was “grateful to have the opportunity to redeem myself for the many mistakes I have made over the years.”
