Everyone fourth employee can imagine quitting their job, shows a survey by the consulting firm Ernst & Young. Six percent of those surveyed were actively looking for a new job in 2023, 20 percent occasionally. Because many employees are dissatisfiedfor example because they earn too little, have too much stress or have no responsibility.

But when are you dissatisfied enough that you should really quit? Anyone faced with this decision should ask themselves why their job makes them unhappy. Career counselor Ragnhild Struss recommends systematically looking for the reasons for your frustration: Is it the tasks, the colleagues, the manager, the working hours or just the long commute? Once you have figured out what is bothering you, you should ask yourself: Can something be changed about it?
