DR Congo defender Paul Kalambayi has completed a move to English League Two side Barrow following his departure from Dagenham & Redbridge.
Barrow confirmed the signing on the club’s official social media channels, with the 27-year-old centre-back joining ahead of the 2026/27 campaign as the Bluebirds continue to strengthen their squad.
Experienced defender begins new chapter
Kalambayi arrives at Barrow after several seasons in English football, where he has built a reputation as a dependable central defender.
A product of AFC Wimbledon’s academy, he has gained valuable experience across the lower tiers of the English football pyramid and is expected to add leadership, physicality and defensive stability to his new side.
Barrow believe his experience will prove valuable as they target a strong League Two campaign and push for promotion.
Proven performer in English football
Despite spending most of his career outside the top divisions, Kalambayi has continued to develop steadily and established himself as a consistent performer.
Across his senior career, the DR Congo defender has made 61 appearances, scoring two goals and registering one assist; an encouraging return for a centre-back.
His ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch, coupled with his defensive reliability, made him an attractive option for Barrow as they looked to reinforce their back line.
Promotion ambitions
Kalambayi’s arrival forms part of Barrow’s recruitment strategy as the club seeks to build a competitive squad within its financial means.
The defender will now focus on settling into his new surroundings and helping the Bluebirds challenge near the top of League Two during the upcoming season.
For Kalambayi, the move offers another opportunity to showcase his qualities and continue his development while playing a key role in Barrow’s ambitions.
