Friedrich Merz’s “week of fate” began promisingly – and ended with three defeats. His leadership principle by announcement is increasingly causing problems for the Chancellor.

So this is how the “Week of Fate”, as it was called in the Chancellery, ends: The EU provides from its budget Ukraine a loan available. She postpones a trade agreement with Latin America.
