The Federal Government has agreed to change the hunting law to make it easier to shoot wolves. The Ministry of Agriculture justified the project with the protection of grazing animals.
The change provides for “regional inventory management”. This is intended to allow countries in which there are regions with many wolves and the population is therefore not considered endangered to be able to regulate the number of wolves living there. “In this context, a hunting season is planned from July 1st to October 31st,” said the Ministry of Agriculture.
The shooting of wolves should also be made easier, regardless of the population, if the animals have already overcome herd protection measures such as fences and injured or killed grazing animals.
