Dortmund against Mönchengladbach. After a dominant 2-0 win, Germany’s second-best team is back in second place. But something has changed in Dortmund. The rashes stay away. The ones at the top, which is no wonder, because the outstanding individualists like Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang no longer play there. But Maxi Beier, for example, who initially missed the huge counter-attack opportunity against Gladbach to make it 2-0 before he then scored.
But the fans no longer have to suffer the downward swings. There are no more home defeats against Mainz or Augsburg. He only lost once BVB in the Bundesliga in the last nine months: 1:2 in Munich. The team was disappointing in the first half, but almost lost a point in the end. And in the Champions League only Man City was too strong. If you ignore the DFB Cup exit against Leverkusen and one or two unnecessary draws, the results are correct. Compared to the situation in the spring, things are looking great for BVB today. If Bayern weren’t so outstanding, he would still be in the title race.
