A planned SPD member petition against Tightening of citizens’ money can officially start. As a party spokeswoman announced, sufficient signatures have been collected for the formal introduction. This means the first hurdle has been overcome. The quorum was one percent of party members, which corresponds to around 3,500 signatures.

The members’ petition will be successful if a fifth of the SPD members sign within three months. The party executive then decides whether to implement the demands. The voting result is not binding.

Initiators are against tightening sanctions
