Subject to a medical check, he is moving to the traditional Italian club AC Milan. According to consistent media reports, Milan will initially loan the 32-year-old striker from West Ham United until the end of the season. The Milan club is then said to have secured a purchase option. Füllkrug should sign his contract following the medical examinations.
With the move, Füllkrug is hoping for more playing time than before, and thus a chance to take part in the World Cup in the summer. The striker has hardly been used in the Premier League recently and has repeatedly struggled with injuries. Füllkrug moved to the island from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for 27 million euros. “Looking back, you have to say that the transfer didn’t work. We don’t have to sugarcoat anything,” his advisor Thorsten Wirth recently explained.
