Accra Jan.02.26 : University of Ghana increases academic fees exceeding 25 percent for the 2025/2026 academic year
The University of Ghana is Ghana’s most prestigious University situated in the heart of Accra
It harbours the knowledge on hill and its beautiful environment attracts prospect from all walks of life to experience undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate studies
However the past 3 years has seen its academic fees constantly rising yet no proper explanation has been made so far to prospects and the general public

Despite the prices of goods and services slowing down beginning 2025, the academic fees of serval Universities in Ghana continue to skyrocket.
Although university management is yet to officially explain reasons behind the increment, the provisional schedule of academic fees for the 2025/26 academic year shows substantial upward adjustments affecting both fresh and continuing students.
The fee ranges from Ghc3,874 – Ghc4,000 for both freshers and continuing for College of Humanities and College of Education
For College of Health Sciences the fee ranges from GHc3,900 – Ghc 4300 for regular students (meaning students who met the competitive cut off points)
Notice: The minimum amount to be paid in percentage terms before a student can have access to register for the academic year is as follows:
Academic Registration
At least 50% before registration for the First Semester and 100% before registration for the Second Semester
Residential Registration
100% before registration for the Semester
