Alwara Thaler’s Berlin apartment is a museum of memories. A wreath of flowers hangs in her bedroom. Fans of the Amazon series “Maxton Hall” will recognize it: The leading actress Harriet Herbig-Matten wears one of these at a costume ball. Thaler has been furnishing film sets for more than 20 years; her most famous project was Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds”. In an interview with ZEIT, the Austrian shows some objects that she bought from the collection after filming ended: impressive hand-blown bedside lamps from “Maxton Hall” and Moroccan Sedari sofas from the film “Seneca” with John Malkovichand a knee-high illuminated letter from the Hotel Savoy from “Dream Factory”.
