The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that negotiations to end the of Russia The war that began at the beginning of January will be continued. A meeting of the national security advisors from the Coalition of the Willing is initially planned on January 3rd in the UkraineZelenskyj wrote on Telegram. Another meeting at the level of heads of state is to follow on January 6th.
“We are grateful to President Trump’s team for their willingness to take part in both formats,” said Zelenskyj, referring to US President Donald Trump. Western countries that help Ukraine see themselves as a coalition of the willing.
Shortly after the announcement, Zelensky told reporters that the aim of the security advisers’ meeting was to “review all documents, preparations and additional points” before leaders discuss them on January 6 in France. The allies’ security advisers would then meet again on January 7 to “refine the details.” The Ukraine hope for a meeting with Trump and the European heads of state and government afterwards.
Just this weekend, Trump welcomed Zelenskyj in Florida for talks about ending the war. Although both sides were subsequently optimistic about the progress of the negotiations, no concrete progress known.
